Well, having just watched the full match replay, the better team won.
Two up front didn’t work today. We were way too open in midfield and runners were not picked up. RS is changing the marking philosophy (I approve) and shape for the next game, so let’s see what happens.
The two up front did have some good chances, but looked blunt and off the pace.
McAllister was sublime as always. Whenever he drops deep and picks up the ball, something great happens. Watch the replay, it’s crazy how much of our free flowing football flows through him. He should and will be playing at a higher level. Probably not with us though.
Where did Harries go? Not even on the bench. He deserves better than that. We need some experience back there. I think a back three of Innis, JMT, and Harries, with Kircough for cover would be very effective.
Haughton in his favoured position is a delight. Anywhere else, he’s a bit lost. So…play him in his best position 🫠
But, whatever happens in the next few games, it’s been an interesting season.

i truly dont understand RS thinking on the defence, Kanu has been disappointing all season, can barely win a header. It is clear to me that JMT, Innes, Kircough Harries Bunker are all a far better option.Keep the defence solid and let the midfield be dynamic.
For me the best 11 would be Isted in goal, JMT, Innes and Harries at the back, Jilli and Knowles as wingbacks(if only we had kept Robbo) Mendy in front of the defence with Clarke, Houghton and Kyle roaming behind Rees or Mellor, with Doidge, Bunker, Kircough,Robson, Pemberton, Kengni ,Pagel on the bench..no loanees needed.
