As an obvious glory supporter who only starter supporting FGR since they have been relegated back to the National league and thus have only the last 2 seasons to compare how we are performing as a team I cant see how anyone thinks we can turn this season around and challenge for promotion. Two seasons ago and with zero personal experience of seeing FGR play I was spoilt by being able to turn up every home game and bemoan what felt like endless draws we had peppered with the occasional win like we should be winning every game. We lost only once at home all regular season and were mere minutes away from a Wembley trip in the playoffs. Then the higher ups decide the SC wasn't delivering enough of the 'entertaining' football we now get to watch and he was shown the door. What do i know about running a football club and delivering so it would seem we expect better from a season than SC could produce and in comes RS. Last season we only lost once at home in the first half of the season (2 loses in total for those first 23 games and those were against teams challenging for promotion) but our season seemed to fall apart after Xmas yet we still made it to the playoffs so again I have come to expect that as standard from this team now. This season we are 5 games in and have lost 3 games already to teams that we should be beating on paper which dosn't fill any of us with confidence. From my short time supporting the club i can only take the results over the last few seasons as a sign we have got worse. I have not experienced the dizzy highs of promotion or the abject misery of relegation so maybe I should just enjoy the football game as the spectacle it is and anything else is a plus and leave the proper griping about how the team is doing to others on here who have weathered the storm.
