With JMT out, Kanu unable to see properly, and Mendy with groin issues, Robbie better make friends with Inniss sharpish. Maybe he has to apologise this time.

I missed this. What happened with RI and RS?

We were not great at the back but then that’s also because we don’t play actual defenders at the back, we lacked experience tonight but we got it done. We make it hard for ourselves but that comes down to team selection.

Haughton was class when others weren’t at it.

Let’s start with the officials.  Referee got the two key decisions, the red card and the penalty right but otherwise had an indifferent performance.  The fourth official needs to learn to count as both halves were very short on added time.

The pluses tonight was Nick Haughton closely followed by Temi  Babalola but others didn’t make the most of playing 10 men admittedly in awful conditions.  We still don’t bring the ball out quickly enough from defence and fail to shoot when it was a much better choice than to play through balls that come to nothing.  Nevertheless I lost count of how many saves their keeper made who stopped a cricket score.  However as with Saturday FGR were much the better team and will improve further as the season progresses.

The downside was two awful goals against due to very bad defending and such mistakes must be eradicated sooner rather than later.  3 points separate the top 6.  This year the League will go right to the end but we need to use the next few games to get into the strongest position.

It seems we have different heroes each week.

We need to beat 10th - below week in week out as this league will be won how you play vs the top sides. York will be up there, as will Carlisle, NL tighter than ever ! The top 6 just aren’t slipping up unless playing each other.

Agree, given the consistency being shown it's matches between the top 6 that could well prove crucial, and somewhere we probably need to improve in the reverse set of fixtures. We've so far played Scunthorpe, York, Rochdale and Boreham Wood at home and Carlisle away but only picked up 5/15 points in those games, despite overall playing pretty well in most of them. Probably need to double that in the second set of those fixtures imo.
