I’d say Mendy was a strong contender for MoM too.

Mom-Inniss/Whitwell/Mendy -you takes yer pick.

having said that -i would go for mcnicholas-:
safe hands/decent kicking ,and two saves at the end which prevented it being 2-0 or 3-0 and game over.

as importantly -look forward to seeing the fgr goal-did Mc Nicholas get an assist ?
he may not have touched the ball-but by going up in the penalty area-he certainly acted as a 'disrupter/decoy '.

two other observations :i thought jaydyn clarke showed a bit of calmness when he came on.not suggesting he should start-but when everyone else was panicking a bit to get an equaliser-i thought he went about things calmly and efficiently .

other observation : jill buyabu -if he is 'back on grass next week and perhaps 3 weeks away -could have fooled me -looked to be limping worse than he was last week at the hartlepool game.
Apart from that-interesting that although one of the players obviously not involved-he was on the pitch watching pre match and was first on the pitch with the rest of the players post match.
you can tell his enthusiasm and just wants to be out there playing-i hope he is real soon-but 3 weeks looks optimistic to me.

I don't usually comment after a match, to busy with my website update and all the stats, but I have to today.

Scunthorpe players were the most cheating lot I've seen for a long time. Time wasting all the time and the attempts to fake an injury to pursued the referee there had been a serious fouls were pathetic.

I must comment on the Radio Glos commentry and DAZN coverage today. The comentators were very poor, get Billy Hunt back with Paul Furley, they know what they are talking about. As for DAZN, the commentry was going on and off all match and very cracking up, the picture often stopped whilst the cameraman couldn't get the brightness correct, one minute bright and then dark as night.

Grumpy old pensioner finished and I will get back to my stats.

My, we got out of jail with this one but I wasn't surprised in the end. Some observations on things to date:

We are lacking aerially at the back without JMT (though, as I always say, you can't build a team around him). I never feel confident when Kanu is competing in the air.

Haughton hasn't become the goalscorer he was at Flylde, though I don't think the criticism of him is necessarily fair. He still does an awful lot.

I felt confident in McNicholas for the first time today. He's steady rather than spectacular and is reminding me of McGee or Russell in that regard.

We miss far too many chances.

Is this a side that is going to win the league? No. Is this one that should get in the playoffs? Definitely, and it will be a massive disappointment if we don't. I'm expecting at least four teams to finish above us. That's a vast improvement on where I thought we would be this season.

@michael Yes McNicholas was definitely a disruptor at the end, but I think Innis won the header, then Cardwell’s effort was fumbled- looked like it might have come off keeper/Walker then to Balazigi.

I’d agree several including McN had a shout for MoM

On the highlights as I thought you will not see a more blatant penalty than the one we didn’t get today.  Sums up just how hopeless the referee was.
