I wasn't able to watch due to other commitments but that was a decent win against a good side. Scunthorpe will be tougher.
 
One moan: once again, the highlights were terrible. Over the past few matches they've been put together by someone who puts in a load of waffle. This time they were done by someone with ADHD and only half of it was worth of being called 'highlights'. At least show a replay of the goal.
 
You know the club are doing well when moans are about highlights!

We’re in the NL. Blame the club for failing to recruit the right players and managers over the last few season as EFL highlights are usually available within an hour of the game.

You really cannot expect decent , accurate , reliable highlights when in NL.

I’ll watch the goal, that’s it , as the rest will be absolute garbage.

From highlights I saw some defence errors, chances spurned. Compared what I saw in Rochdale v Braintree today they also have quality in depth.
RS always accentuates positive, but clearly still aspects to improve on there . Can't be complacent at all.

There seem to be a good few clubs at this level who can get the highlights up to a reasonable standard. Ours were pretty decent last year. 😊

60 years ago-some of us didnt even have television-let alone match highlights so i am easily pleased .
 
that given-the 'highlights ' unfortunately do not show mcnicholas save .
 
they do show that there was no one near walker (hartlepool walker )when walker (fgr walker ) put it in the net i 88th minute .
pity on that bit will always applaud a bit of gamesmanship (as long as at end of day-fgr win )
 
serious and foul play gamesmanship though so hartlepool walker should have had a red card.
otherwise ref was very good-but i guess he cant take the risk on a head injury .

Agree with the other couple of comments about McNicholas. I expected him to be a good signing for us on the evidence of his short spell at Rochdale, but the long term injury he had to recover from brought a few question marks and I did think he might have been disappointed with the goals conceded at Solihull especially. Since then it looks like he's really growing into the role and will be another real asset for us. All the better for him being a permanent member of the squad, with the extra stability that brings.
 
I also agree, again, with the comments about the quality of the highlights videos. With the club so professionalised in other departments, and the quality of our media definitely improving, I don't understand why the highlights are so consistently poor. Some simple rules which currently aren't being followed:
  1. Always show the full build up to a goal (for either side), and show a replay.
  2. Limit to an absolute minimum the time spent while the ball is out of play.
  3. Show every big chance for either side, and as many half chances as you can fit in a 5-10 minute video.

Good performance and great result against a strong team.

Small negatives, again Kanu is poor in the air, it took Ryan coming on and taking command before we really got a grip of things back there. Kengni was unfortunately off it after a string of better performances. The ref was also laughably bad today. What we’ll have to deal with at this level though.

The positives vastly outweigh the negatives though. Tre, Mendy, Whitwell and Mitchell were all outstanding today. Best I’ve seen Kairo play and he was unlucky not to have a 2nd today on a couple of occasions. What a player we’ve got for the season in Whitwell, glides about the pitch so effortlessly with the physically and quality to match. Bamba looked a real handful when he came on too.
 
Another win, another clean sheet. Top of the league, unbeaten and it looks like this is sustainable unlike last season. Happy Saturday all!
 
Bit harsh on Kengni, I thought he was actually quite good. Seemed to get his foot in a number of times and he never stops running and providing an option on the overlap.
 
Whitwell was comfortably the best player on the pitch to half time but tired in the second half. Mitchell had both Hartlepool centre halves under control and was my POTM, Mendy was pretty much flawless save for one or two misplaced passes in the first half, and Naughton combined beautifully with the two holding midfielders.
 
McNicholas only had a handful of things to do and he did them brilliantly.

only Rochdale could be over FGR with one game in hand, but they have to play it... and York seem strong enough! let's hope that York does their work, at least against them?
Their game in hand which is York away has been re-arranged for March!
