We are TOO used to smooth pitches that play well - our home pitch and the training ground are bowling green quality.
Perhaps we need some experience of muddy park pitches - ideally practising on them, but if not talk about how to deal with poor conditions
Anyway it should be called off, so just a learning experience for 10 minutes
On the video there doesn't look to be much wrong with Barrow's pitch either. I suppose if the deluge is heavy enough no kind of pitch will cope.

If you see when the match was abandoned the players are splashing around, with water reaching up to their knees.

The Barrow defender passes back calmly to their keeper, the ball stope dead in the area. Sean should have scored but skies it.

The referee has to take responsibility for the game starting. Yes he has to take recognition of the fans, especially the travelling ones but he should make the tough decision even if both managers want to start the game.

As well as being farcical in the first 15 minutes, there could easily have been player injuries.

Bonkers goal in bonkers conditions. Our defence looked all at sea.

What a pity Etaluku didn't score - then we could at least say we were drawing at the time of abandonment.

I hope the fans who went get some compensation but who would know who was there if they didn't go with the supporters coach?

We live to fight another day I guess.

It was clear to everyone there that the game wasn’t going to complete except it appears the Ref. When the ground staff were trying to use towels to mop up the water you knew it was too far gone…. Thank goodness our pitch is so good and drains well.
